As a friend of mine put it quite succinctly – why is the road always blocked?

It has become abundantly clear that I am not going to be able to do this entirely on my own. Besides my lack of ability on the sewing machine (I managed to bend a needle on my first day), my two children are clearly not going to allow me to get any work done.

Luckily I have been back in touch with my manufacturer and he is working on another prototype for me.

  1. Wunderkin is a company that sells hairbows for kids…they have remote seamstresses that receive a per piece rate. Each week they mail their seamstresses all the supplies-fabric, thread etc and at the end of the week the seamstress ships back the completed bows. They get paid via paypal once a week and they have a weekly minimum requirement of 100 pieces. That may be an avenue to consider instead of a manufacturer.

    1. Thank you Jenn! That’s a great suggestion – I’ll keep it in mind for the future. I ended up being able to get my product manufactured in the end, though it was a long process. I learned a lot along the way, that’s for sure!
